Biting the Bullet

... and dodging a bullet .. & missiles & bombs!

The world political situation is in complete and utter TOTAL FLUX.

Nobody knows when things will settle down.

All travel - worldwide - is dodgy and not advised.

People are canceling flights right & left. The ones who are stuck are sheltering in place.

Believe me, I tried every which way to salvage this trip. But alas and alack .. prudence must prevail. We have decided to cancel - cut our losses as much as possible, and totally bail from this wonderful trip plan. Maybe ... a big maybe ... at some future date we will start all over and try to plan a new rendezvous in Tashkent. We shall see.

Meanwhile ... it was a lot of fun planning. I spent hundreds of dollars on travel stuff including luggage, gismos & travel products ... and of course the huge assortment of gifts for my dear friends, the Menshikovs. Oh yeah - what about those gifts?

I'll box them up & ship them to Tashkent. It will cost a couple hundred dollars to ship. A couple items were hanging plush hearts & stars - with recorded "thank-you" message which I planned to give at the end of the trip. So I'll have to enclose a note explaining what those things are so they don't step into a glitch in the matrix when they play the recordings saying thank you ... for a wonderful time! hahah funny - not funny.

I'm not laughing. I am deep sigh-ing. We were sooooo close!

Oh well. Another day .. another adventure. You just never know.
